Select the device management on the menu bar. Device management is your one-stop shop for managing all of your devices.

  • Devices

The devices table contains all of your devices. If you click through a device, you will see detailed specific information around that device.

You will also have the ability to do the following options:

  • App Installation: Single shot application installs on a specific device

  • Firmware Upgrade: Single shot firmware upgrade on Android devices

  • Command Centre: Send through System commands for devices. System commands focuses on device commands.

If your peripherals are supported then other commands may be available in the peripherals tab.

  • Reboot: Sends a single reboot command to the system

  • Maintenance Mode: Increases the device check-in time for real-time support resolutions.

  • Screenshot: Returns a screenshot of the primary display. To view the full-size image this can be saved.

  • Groups

Overview

Groups are used to logically organize your devices. The groups page facilitates the user of high-level and nested groups.


A device can only belong to one single group and cannot be spread across multiple groups.


Packages and profiles can be assigned to groups for mass distribution.

MAIN:  The tree on the left side shows the Group hierarchy. Click on the triangle in front of a group name to show the dependent group(s). Click on a Group name to show the details on the right side of the screen.

UNASSIGNED: Bucket for all devices not in a group. Upon Device provision, all devices will go into “UNASSIGNED”

CREATE NEW GROUP: Creates a new group under the currently selected group in the tree. Click on the Create Group icon, enter the name of the group, and click on the Create button.

 

ADD DEVICE: Adds a device to the currently selected group.
Click on the + Add device button to display a list of available devices from the UNASSIGNED section.
Check the devices to add to the group and click on the Go button.



 

Group Options

Home icon         : Click on the Home icon to go to the top of the group hierarchy.

Refresh icon         : Click on the icon to refresh the displayed status.

Gear COG        : Click on the gear cog to assign a Profile or a Package to the Group.

Three dots        : Click on 3 dots to rename or remove the group

  • Packages

The package page is where you can upload your own APK files and any O/S updates.
Files distributed to your devices can be added or removed using the packages page.

APK Files

To upload an Android application ensure Command is set to “Install Application”.
You can then upload your APK files.

Firmware/System Updates

To upload a system update, select the “Upgrade Firmware” option.
You can now upload firmware upgrade files
Note: Uploads greater than 750mb please contact support.

Installation Details

In order to see the installation of a package you need to do the following:

  1. Select Device Management\Packages\<PackageName>

  2. Click ‘Detail’

  3. If there are any failures you hit the optional retry button to resend the package to failed devices

  • Profiles

Overview

Profiles in Inefi Spotlight are used to configure Android devices to a desired configuration. You can use these settings to lock-down the user experience of a device and to kiosk applications.
In order to kiosk an application, it is recommended you set the default application and disable the Android status bar and Navigation bar.

Profile Details

In order to see the installation of a profile you need to do the following:

  1. Select Device Management\profiles\<PackageName>

  2. Click ‘Detail’

If there are any failures you hit the optional retry button to resend the profile to failed devices
